ÖKOSTRAT ®            Broken Clay

ÖKOSTRAT ^®  for semiculture, indoor and outdoor planting, roof gardening, pots and terraces.

ÖKOSTRAT^®     is fired in rotary kilns at a temperature of 1200°C after which it is mechanically broken, which is why it offers so many advantages in comparison to any other available clay and substrates.

	has has very good water storage properties (up to 80 %). The water is drained in measured quantities.

	can be mixed with all known materials and can be used in all known systems.

Roof greening with ÖKOSTRAT ^®

A growing substrate for roof greening should have the following features

	it should be light in weight
	it should offer enough trace elements
	it should have a good water storage capacity
	it should protect against erosion
	it should provide superb water-balance regulation and good soil aeration
	it should have as much pores as possible

ÖKOSTRAT ^® fulfils all the pre-conditions of a high quality growing substrate.

Growing medium for soil improvement

ÖKOSTRAT ^® is the perfect substrate for soil improvement. It can also be used as a top layer and mixed with all common substrates. ÖKOSTRAT ^® retains moisture when the soil is too wet and offers good drainage when too dry. The porous structure and capillarity make the soil light, which encourages aeration of the soil.


Planting substrate for balcony and terrace

ÖKOSTRAT ^® can be used as top layer in pots to prevent the soil from drying out, for drainage and as a water reservoir, can be mixed for soil improvement, and can be used as a planting substrate in semiculture.
Just remove the soil from the roots and plant them again directly in ÖKOSTRAT ^®.

ÖKOSTRAT ^® is in all respect the ideal substrate for terraces and balconies.
