Garden
ponds provide an oasis of relaxation. The sound of water stream into a Biotop pond lifts our spirits and soothes our minds. It also has a
great ecological advantage for nature.
Create this experience for
yourself and/or your customer with Aquaclay®. Natural lay-in garden and
swimming ponds need relatively small capital investment vis-à-vis
traditional swimming pools. Reeds in shallows support water cleaning.
Biological filtration in ponds with aquatic plants or with a large fish
density using external filter canister will decompose ammonia and nitrite transforming it into nitrate. In areas of poor oxygenation the
nitrate will be break down into nitrogen and oxygen by a strain of
bacteria. Thus Aquaclay®
supports the adequate
environment for keeping living organisms in their natural
way. What else can one wish for a natural ecologically balanced basis? Aquaclay®
has long-lasting properties
because of its large pores, and because it does not clog easily, making
this an excellent investment and value for money.

Apart of the relative
small investment costs and the environmentally-friendly quality, the
low maintenance costs are also very advantageous. Water runs into
the purification area over an overflow where Aquaclay®
comes in action. The
water flows through the cleaning body and is discharged at the
bottom of the swimming pond. Through this process a current is built
up which runs from the bottom to the surface and again to the
purification area.

is for use in larger
filtration systems.
Aquaclay®
F 13-20
is filled in a flow through
filter media bag. Filter
bags are easily removed making filter cleaning far easier.

Landscape gardeners use
“aqua filter with water plants” for large water purification
installations. This is a pond in which swimming and treatment
zones are built into one water basin - the "one-pot pond".
The water is conveyed from the main pond to the
water plants pond, which is a pleasure for the eyes of the swimmer. The water runs through different layers of Aquaclay®
. This regenerating system, together with plants,
kills any germs and the water is denitrified. The regenerated water
then flows back into the swimming pond. In comparison with the
traditional used gravel Aquaclay® offers a larger surface for bacteria colonisation.

Aquaclay®
F 4-10 is also an
outstanding suitable product as ground substrate in flat and shallow
water areas in ponds. The bacteria settle and support the filter system
thus breaking down pollutants. The plants find a better foothold and
their roots are well ventilated, thus avoiding root rot and consequently
the production of other harmful substances.
